Being a female hunter in a male dominated sport has been trying at times. The prejudices and attitudes have been the hardest to overcome. Some other difficulties have been working with gun store owners, property owners, and the "Good Old Bo...ys Club". I believe I have used my love of the sport to sustain my drive in becoming a successful hunter. I also use my love and knowledge of the sport to help other female hunters have an enjoyable and successful hunting experience, whether they are just starting out or are an experienced female hunter. "Being a successful deer hunter isn't measured by the quantity of animals that you have harvested, its the feeling in your soul that you receive for having another chance to experience the amazing outdoors". Membership: -NRA Lifetime Member -Member of the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners -CCW (Concealed Weapon Permit for Michigan) -NWTF Member -Outdoor Sportsman Advocate -Active in local Government: Planning Commision, Census, -Voter/Election Clerk -Bow and Firearm hunting for over 10 years

Hello, my name is Wendy and I am 25 years old. Born and raised in NW Montana. I grew up in the woods, tagging along with my uncle as he hiked the beautiful Montana Mountains. I am sporty girly girl, who is not afraid to get dirty. I enjoy, ...HUNTING, hiking, fishing, and anything else you can do outdoors. I am a volunteer for our local search and rescue, and the local archery club president. I work during the day as an accountant for the county, and work at our archery shop at night. I married my best friend in July of last year, and spent our honeymoon hunting Pike County for monster whitetail. My husband got me my first bow for my birthday five years ago and it has been my life since. I compete in archery tournaments year round. In February I attended the World Archery Festival in Las Vegas and shot my best indoor score to date. I shoot, indoor and field archery, but 3D is my favorite. I love to shoot 3d because I feel it prepares me for archery season. I have traveled as far as New York to compete in 3D tournaments. I started hunting five years ago, harvesting my first deer that same year. After shooting my first deer I was hooked. I like to hunt deer, bear, turkey, mountain lion, duck, and Elk. My favorite time of the year is early September. There is no greater experience then hiking into the backcountry and seeing the elk in full rut, bugling like crazy as the sun rises. I spend most of my archery season in search of a Elk. Once riffle seasons opens, I tend to hunt deer and bear. I have not hunted out of the state of Montana, and it is my dream to harvest a water buffalo with my bow. Winning this competition, and hunting Africa would be a dream come true.

Although Heather dutifully spends her working hours helping the aged and disabled get the medical assistance they need, she is prone to daydreaming about things she would rather be doing; such as, stalking the rare wide-racked Whitetail, po...king holes in Dall Sheep, outsmarting wild turkeys, sneaking up on wild hogs, standing knee-deep in the river trying to lure trout, and avoiding field mice and moths at all cost. Heather is a native and life-long resident of North Carolina. Her hometown is well-known primarily for being unknown. As the only person in her family with strong hunter-gatherer tendencies, in the nature of most self-taught skills, learning the art of the hunt has been an interesting, and at times, perilous process. However, the only accidental injury sustained has been to a ground blind and Heather’s feelings when she was caught using language that was less than ladylike after the incident. And well, there are the boots that made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of hunting when Heather found herself locked out of the house and ended up in the woods deer hunting in dress pants, dress top, and high heels. (Rest In Peace, old friends). Heather began fishing with her father and grandfather when she was just a tot. In the last five years she has been fly fishing exclusively and enjoys the challenge tying her own flies. When not channeling her creativity by turning some of those flies into earrings, or trying her hand at being the bear whisperer, Heather spends time with her bloodhounds, Ellie Mae and Lily. In her hunting journey, Heather has worked hard to overcome a lot of the stereotypes people have about women being serious, responsible hunters. She is proud of the skills she has gained and looks forward to continuing to hone those same skills as her horizons expand. She is easygoing, unless you steal her trophies, and she looks forward to forming new friendships, and reaffirming the old, within the outdoor community.

I am 26 and I absolutely love spending time outdoors. I have found hunting as a great way to spend time with my husband, make new friends and experience everything nature has to offer. Whether it's am up in a tree stand, sitting in a blind or just on the ground, there is something very special about taking the time to listen to the wild around you. It doesn’t matter what the season is, I always keep my camo in my car and I am always down for some time in the woods!

Hey all!! My name is Kelly, I was born in rasied in central Pennsylvania. I have always been that "tomboy" growing up but i never really got into hunting until a few years ago. I LOVE shooting my bow and guns whenever I get the chance. I am... Fun, loveable and very easygoing. I love meeting new people and get along with pretty much everyone! Aside from hunting I also love fishing, riding 4wheelers/dirt bikes, mudding, bonfires, camping, etc.... To me hunting is not all about getting "trophies" its about being one with nature, putting meat on the table, and have a BLAST doing it! ♥ Kel

Since I was old enough to walk, I was always in the water or knee deep in the mud. My worry free childhood had forts, creeks, sand pits, fishing poles, sling shots, BB guns and my best buddy my older brother, who taught me the simple ropes of the outdoors. Now it is my time to show my beautiful 5 year old daughter Bailee the ropes of life and how to follow her dreams. Since she was born she has been my little princess from the many hours spent being pushed in the running stroller, playing dolls and cheering me on when times got tough, she’s been my little rock. I couldn’t imagine life without her. I have two amazing parents who have supported me in every direction I’ve turned. They’ve been there through it all. Family, God, hunting, fishing and the outdoors are my favorite things in life. So why the passion for the outdoors?? It’s about the beauty that Mother Nature has to offer. It’s about the life of a passionate women and her love for God, her family, the outdoors, nature, life, and sharing it with those around her. Getting it all captured on film and letting you share in the experience of the ups and downs of hunting, fishing and the outdoors, whether it’s on the opening day of whitetail or tagging along as I test my skills on the water. It’s just about being out there, whenever there’s a free minute or afternoon and sharing in the experience with others. I hope go after your dreams as I have mine. Hunt hard, live your dreams and enjoy every day as it were your last….one day you will be right.

Vermont #78!!! I really LOVE to be outside in the beautiful Green Mountains! I'm a single mom, so when I'm not spending time with my son or working I'm in the woods hunting and fishing! I'm addicted to deer hunting at 2,200 ft, tracking... bucks from Mt to Mt with my Dad and the boys. I'm an avid hunter that loves hunting turkeys in old hardwoods and black bear in deep valleys. I adore goose, duck and bird hunting with my shotgun. Yes, I eat everything I kill... Even a wood chuck or two lol Fishing is another passion of mine! Been known to ice fish in below zero temp and fly fish miles up in mountain brooks for trout. Rifle, muzzleloader, shot gun, bow and fishing rods are all tools of my trade! I know I defiantly could survive off the deep Vermont wilderness!! Please vote for this redneck huntress #78 :)

I Grew up hunting with my dad. He was and still is my hero. He taught me respect and love for animals and the wilderness. My first harvest was a Shiras Bull moose at the age of 16. Hunted many deer and elk until I was in my early 30s, th...en was introduced to archery hunting. I harvested my first archery bull 3 yrs ago on my own. My second the next year. In the 28 yrs of hunting I have never lost an animal. I practice a lot and never take a questionable shot. I love to take young people and novice hunters out for their first animal and teach them what my father taught me. Please vote for me, Miss Huntress 2011.
